An Abundance of Wildlife...
Deer Island is home to an abundance of wildlife and is currently a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program. The wetlands that surround Deer Island are home to blue herons, Florida bobcats and an abundance of alligators. But, if you want to see our most prestigious wildlife keep your eyes in the sky. Deer Island is also home to a family of Bald Eagles, as many as six have been seen at one time. The eagles have built a nest high in the pine trees that line the 18th hole, making bald eagle sightings a common occurrence.
